St. John the Baptist Parish Is pleased to announce the inception of THE EUCHARISTIC APOSTLES OF DIVINE MERCY, a cenacle that originates from The National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA and now has reached around the globe. ALL ARE INVITED to become part of a group of Catholics who commit themselves to a prayerful study of the Diary of St. Faustina, Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and Pope John Paul II's Encyclical "Rich in Mercy." The entire focus calls all who feel drawn to live the message of "mercy" as given to St. Faustina, both in the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet and active "mercy" ministry. For additional information to join us, please call 1-203-230-8364. |

St. John the Baptist Churches sponsors a celebration of the Feast of Divine Mercy at 2:00 p.m. on the first Sunday after Easter. As an annual event, the parish devotes two hours to prayer, Scripture reading, and excerpts from the Diary of Saint Faustina. Highlights encompass the chant of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and the veneration of a first class relic of Saint Faustina. In addition, a homilist preaches on the riches of Divine Mercy for each soul, and persons can also be enrolled in the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. It is a vibrant event that fulfills Jesus' request to Saint Faustina to honor the first Sunday after Easter with great solemnity, and thus, to be enriched with His promised indulgence of complete remission of temporal punishment due to sin. The feast is kept in accordance with the wishes of Pope John Paul II who added the Feast of Divine Mercy to the Church calendar in May of 2001. |
